Mabel Cedrón Open House Barcelona 2024 · Accessibility and Inclusion
Go to top Go to top

If there is a building from the last edition of the 48 Open House Bcn 2024 that seeks to improve the ACCESSIBILITY & INCLUSION, is without a doubt the VIHR Vall d´Hebrón Research Institute, its construction has been the first step towards a transformation of the Vall d’Hebron Hospital Campus.

This great change will not only improve the lives of the patients, but will also improve the lives of the residents of the adjacent neighborhoods. A large Green Park will be created, as well as a Vertical Access Axis equipped with mechanics stairs that solve the accessibility of both the Campus and its surroundings.

Built between July/21 and September/24, is located between the current UAB building on the Vall d’Hebron Campus and the Traumatology, Rehabilitation and Burns Hospital, on the grounds of the former Hospital Laundry.

Designed by BAAS Architecture and Espinet/Ubach winners of the International Architectural Competition.
