Open House Tirana

Open House Tirana
On October 28–29, Open House Tirana returns, offering the public a unique chance to explore the architectural and cultural richness of Albania’s capital. This year’s programme will open doors to a diverse selection of sites, revealing Tirana’s layered architectural history.
The first day of Open House Tirana, entitled ‘Reflection on Architectural Heritage’, will explore Tirana’s historic Old Town with guided tours highlighting Ottoman and Italian influences. Participants can visit sites like the Swiss Residence and Villa 31 x Art Explora, gaining insights from a local historian on Tirana’s architectural evolution.
The second day of the festival, focused on contrasts between several periods in the history of Albanian architecture, will further explore Tirana’s evolution. Guided tours will explore notable sites like the Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, where a local architecture expert and historian will shed light on architectural monuments that have played an important role in the history of Tirana.
In addition to guided tours, Open House Tirana will feature artistic performances, including a contemporary dance show at the yard of M.E.K.I. and an experimental music performance at the former residence of Qemal Stafa, creating a unique fusion of art and architecture for festival attendees.
Organised by the Architecture Fund in Albania and the Association of Architects of Albania, Open House Tirana encourages public engagement with the city’s architecture, fostering an appreciation for its history and contemporary landscape.
