Open House Thessaloniki
Open House Thessaloniki
Open House Thessaloniki started in 2012, on the 100th anniversary of its liberation from Ottoman rule, as a way to highlight the city’s architecture. Since then, the festival has taken place 11 times, with great response from the public. Open House Thessaloniki offers guided tours in 70 buildings, led by their architects and festival volunteers, alongside many additional activities. The city showcases a mix of architectural highlights, from traditional Greek buildings in Ano Poli (Upper Town) to modern structures like the new Concert Hall by Arata Isozaki. Open House Thessaloniki reveals these gems to visitors, making architecture more accessible to the public and enhancing their knowledge of urban design and public spaces, allowing everyone to appreciate the importance of well-made architecture.
