I discovered OHB through social networks last year and loved visiting buildings in Brno for free. This year, I again explored beautiful places, starting with the Office of the Architect of the City of Brno. My friend and I saw a model of the exhibition grounds and read about upcoming projects, inspired by a banner emphasizing high-quality, sustainable design. We visited the Exhibition Center, admired the view from pavilion G, and supported the preservation and sustainable reconstruction of the old theater/cinema in the Výstaviště area.

Focusing on sustainability, we saw the House of Lords of Lipé and Český rozhlas Brno, where glazing of the facade improved thermal comfort, reducing heating and cooling needs. The Nová Zbrojovka project, envisioned as the future modern district of Brno, emphasizes greenery and water features for cooling. Dubbed “space recycling,” it represents a major sustainability effort. The ZET.office impressed us with its ecological standards, industrial character, and a green roof terrace enhancing temperature control and biodiversity. Our tour ended at Masaryk University’s Faculty of Arts library, exploring normally inaccessible underground spaces and a secret fallout shelter.
