During the Open House Essen 2025 festival, my painting GEWEITETE GEGENWART ( Expanded Present ) was exhibited in former St.Gertrud Church – today the creative cathedral Trudi. This location was the perfect resonance space for the work: once sacred, now transformed into a cultural venue, it embodies the dialogue between past and future, tradition and transformation.
In the painting, single elements intertwine almost mystically with a play between memory and possibility. With it, I explore how both individual and collective imprints shape our thoughts, emotions and actions – and to what extent our inner worlds define our being.
