How can we transform spaces from unwelcoming, dangerous work environments into comfortable, inviting ones while preserving the identity and history of the place? It all begins with creating accessibility and inclusion—both physical and mental—while keeping the most important details as authentic as possible.

Zollverein is a great example of preserving historical elements by repurposing them for modern public accessibility. Roads that once guided workers through coal mines have been transformed into open pathways for locals, leading to the site’s evolution. These paths now correspond to architectural lines that further strengthen the site’s historical identity.
