Sabini-Grisoni Palace
As a photographer with a passion for architecture, I am always interested in finding spaces that have been renewed and repurposed intelligently. Today we are witnessing an extreme usage of soil and construction materials to build new things and at the same time so many abandoned buildings and areas. In the case of the palace Sabini-Grisoni in Koper, we could see a blend of old and new, a careful restoration of the beautiful frescos they found during the renovation works and respect for the previous owners desire to leave the palace to be used for the community. Now it has been repurposed as a home for several social organisations. Photographically I have chosen a few shots where elements of the original palace have been integrated with contemporary elements such as e.g. lightning which I find very important in this space.
