‘Too Beautiful to Be Sold’ is a poetic visual response to the fragile state of Veleslavín Chateau in Prague, an official heritage site that remains neglected and unsold despite repeated state auctions. Through intimate details—cracked wood, cobwebs, fading light—the series captures the silent presence of a place on the edge of disappearance. The photographs were created with the support of Zuzana Malá Jánská, who helps care for the site as part of a local volunteering initiative. Her voice and experience resonate throughout the visual story, revealing both hope and deep concern. If sold to a private owner, the chateau may be lost to the public forever. This project quietly questions cultural value: what happens to places which are not protected by law but only through the love of someone? Veleslavín Chateau is a place that doesn’t shine on any tourist map yet breathes memories. A house that whispers.
