“In the early post-war decade, as Vilnius expanded, the city needed a new, durable mode of transportation that could carry more passengers. In the duel between tram and trolleybus, it was the trolleybus that won – better suited to the narrow streets of the Old Town.”
And today, trolleybuses remain one of the most eco-friendly modes of public transportation in Vilnius. Promoting public transport is essential for a sustainable future, and trolleybuses are expected to remain a part of that future.
