13a Portobello House in Dublin’s city centre is a small residence cleverly nestled within the backdrop of the Portobello suburb’s Victorian surroundings. As a two-bedroom dwelling ingeniously built on a tightly confined plot, exempt from the need for parking facilities and traditional outdoor spaces typically found in apartments, it offers a fresh perspective on urban living. The dwelling’s layout places the primary living area on the first floor to take advantage of natural light from the roof, as the placement of windows had to be carefully considered to address privacy concerns. The design and choice of materials achieve a harmonious blend, striking a balance between sturdy functionality and sustainability.
